| We are maturing quickly as a party and I'm surprised no one else has stepped up to do this. We really need a Platform which doesn't promise things without saying exactly how we will achieve this. The following is what I believe is the most fair and balanced platform. This is my answer to the current MU funding debate/fiasco. Original: - Quote :
- Social:
-Equality among all Canadian's; Franco, Anglo or Bilingual. -Helping new players grow and become productive citizens. -Giving a voice back to the layman.
Economic: -Lower/Modest Taxes -Lower VAT
Political: -Honest Politics -Hard Working Congressmen -Supporting a CP candidate who best embodies our Platform, be it one of our own, or someone else.
Military: -Provide NE battles and war for eCanada whenever logically possible -Support our allies and be a trusted and respected voice in our Alliances -Support MU Funding to the best of its abilities -Avoid compromising territorial integrity if possible ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Revision: Social: -Equality among all Canadian's; Franco, Anglo or Bilingual. -Helping new players grow and become productive citizens. -Giving a voice back to the layman. Economic: -Income tax to be held at no more then 5% -Vat on all commodoties to be held at no lower then 15% and no higher then 18% -Increasing import tax to help Canadian industries. Political: -Honest Politics, hiding nothing from the public. -Hard Working Congressmen who stay informed on all issues within Canada. -Supporting a CP candidate who best embodies our Platform, be it one of our own, or someone else. Military: -Provide NE battles and war for eCanada whenever logically possible. -Support our allies and be a trusted and respected voice in our Alliances. -Keeping Canada Sovereign and keeping a hold of all native territories. -Provide sustainable MU funding that involves; - a. Supplying MU's based on their damage/power output and actual size.
- b. Supplying MU's only if they agree to and carry out both supplying members as they see fit and using a portion of the funding to help players become self sustaining

| I suggest revising it to VAT no higher than 18% and no lower than 10%.

| I'll have to vote against this current draft, I would vote yes if there was more room for the lower tax changes | |

I find it pointless to make it specific, just say low as in the future a change to 1% or 10 or higher may be proposed and it may be beneficial for us. - Quote :
- -Vat on all commodoties to be held at no lower then 15% and no higher then 18%
google tells me that this should be spelled commodities. - Quote :
- -Increasing import tax to help Canadian industries.
I'm not up to date on the economic situation but, I find it pointless to incorporate that point into the platform. If you ask me you can just restate it to keep low/modest taxes that best supply our MUs and aren't too demanding on the common citizen. - Quote :
- hiding nothing from the public.
Transparency is good, but would you feel comfortable opening these forums for everyone to see, coalition, Rolo etc. This is the point I strongly disagree with most, as I would not feel secure posting stuff that is meant for only my party eyes to see yet have everyone who simply opens the forum without even having an account. (this is based off EPIC's stance on transparency). - Quote :
- -Keeping Canada Sovereign and keeping a hold of all native territories.
I've stated this before, taking a bullet for an ally is a noble act, and I would do it many times to save an ally's a$$ rather than sit and watch them get steamrolled. I know the common N00b misconception is that being wiped is bad, but besides some less stuff produced we get valuable allies. My two cents

| Lord that link broke my page.
VAT is Value added tax, basically the government takes a portion of the profit away from the seller.

From what I've seen we are currently being flooded with foreign goods, driving prices very low and fucking Canadian business over. I'll read it through again and fix spelling and grammatical errors. And now that I look back hiding nothing from the public is very vague and could be misleading. In my next draft I'll fix these issues.

| I agree with most of Chewy's points, and I think that the VAT Maximum should be 20% | |

| We need to find some form of middle ground here, we can't have a gap of about 10% on VAT. | |

| And What about the party belief, I think that clarify most of the platform, here's our party belief for a reminder.
Quote: As a member: 1. I believe eCanada should remain a sovereign nation, [With some flexibility]. 2. I believe in social programming to help better our nation and every Canadian. 3. I believe in modest taxes that does not: -a. Make it hard on consumers or corporations to make a living. -b. Make it impossible to fund social programs. -c. Make it impossible to Fund our military keeping us sovereign and secure.
4. I believe in open politics. Giving every Canadian a voice and free will to run for UPC Congress or Party President. 5. I believe in a unified Canada and will help carry out the decision of the majority. 6. I believe the Coalition is a threat to Canadian stability and unity therefore must be kept from power.
As a Congress member: 1. I believe in the UPC platform and beliefs. 2. I believe that being a representative of the UPC is a job and nothing less. 3. I believe that my job is to better Canada by proposing and passing laws based off UPC platform. 4. I believe I have the job of not just answering for myself when voting but for answering for the UPC.
As a Party President: 1. I believe in furthering the party, unifying it and keeping it as the voice of our people. 2. I believe that this is not just a title, but a job. 3. I believe that I have to answer to the party and not the other way around.
And I don't think set a limit for everything is real good since we never know what can happen in the future.

| Our platform can be changed at any time, often they are changed every election to reflect current events. We can't choose a platform hoping that it will last us an entire year. If we look indecisive we look incompetent in my opinion. | |

that's why I think our platform shouldn't be specific since would get outdated easily.

| I'll be voting yes this time.
Also Beorn either pick MU funding over low taxes or low taxes over MU funding. You can't have both.
These taxes are best for Canada and have proved to work countless times. Our damage as a nation dropped severely because of the taxes set one month ago.
